Gal Gadot, Pedro Pascal, and Everyone Else Set to Kick Some Ass in Wonder Woman 2

What do we know about the Wonder Woman sequel so far? Honestly, quite a bit. Gal Gadot's titular superhero will drop by the Soviet Union during "the closing days of the Cold War" in the 1980s, might pop up in America at some point, and will face off against comic book villain Cheetah. On top of all that, we also know who's on board for director Patty Jenkins's follow-up to the 2017 hit. While sadly we won't see characters from the first film like Etta Candy (Lucy Davis) or Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), a few exciting newcomers have been added to the cast to make up for it. See everyone who's joined so far below.

Pedro Pascal

Game of Thrones and Narcos alum Pedro Pascal has officially signed on to the sequel in a key role. Although the details of who he's playing are still under wraps, Variety reports that "finding this pivotal role became a top priority." Could he be replacing Steve Trevor as the male lead opposite our beloved Diana of Themyscira?

Kristen Wiig

We all know Kristen Wiig is hilarious thanks to her many years making us laugh on Saturday Night Live and in comedies like Bridesmaids, but recently the actress has been adding more and more dramatic roles to her resumé. In Wonder Woman 2 she's set to play the villain, Dr. Barbara Minerva aka Cheetah.

In the comics, the British archaeologist is transformed into Cheetah due to an ancient ritual gone wrong, and subsequently gains superhuman strength, speed, durability, and agility, as well as claws and fangs. It will certainly be interesting to see how Wiig handles the character.

Chris Pine

OK before you freak out, Chris Pine has not been officially confirmed for the cast quite yet. As we all know, his character Steve Trevor — Diana's (and our) one true love — dies at the end of the first film in a heroic act that saves both his friends and the rest of humanity.

That being said, Jenkins has described the sequel as "a great love story," and hinted that he could be back. "All I can say is it was a dilemma," she told Fandango. "It's something I hope we don't talk about in the public [because] I want people to see, but it's very hard to know which characters will be in the next movie because of the time period, so it's a big question."

Unless someone in the DCEU brings him back from the dead or travels through time to save him, his role will likely be limited to flashbacks, or he could always show up as Steve's descendant. Either way, we have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Pine.

Gal Gadot

Obviously Wonder Woman herself is back! Gal Gadot was the first to join the cast, and we can't wait to see her bring the same level of compassion and depth (and comedy!) to the character the second time around.
