In Addition to Acting, Coco Jones Is Also a Great Singer
Coco Jones may be Hilary Banks in the new "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" reboot, but she'll always be a singer at heart. The 24-year-old Def Jam artist got her Hollywood start as a kid, but she's kept music close to her heart since, releasing covers and her own songs over the years.
The former Disney Channel star caught her big break when she landed a lead role in 2012's "Let It Shine," but both her acting and singing careers were stalled shortly after. In 2020, she released a YouTube video addressing what happened to her after the Disney movie released, stating that no one in the industry knew what to do with her. But now Jones is ready for her fans to get better acquainted with her artistry.
"I know my fans are just ready for any type of content, but with this great team behind me, I feel like it's going to be iconic."
"I'm excited to see the audience's reaction because I've been in this industry since I was a little kid, and they have seen me through a lot of ups and downs," she tells POPSUGAR. "I know my fans are just ready for any type of content, but with this great team behind me, I feel like it's going to be iconic."
Jones says she's gearing up to release a new single at the end of the month, which will likely be accompanied by a music video as well. The actor would love to have some of her music featured on "Bel-Air" as well, but she remains tight-lipped on whether or not that will happen. "I can't speak to that yet. . . . But, of course, I would love that. We'll see. We'll make it happen." Ahead, check out all of Jones's videos singing covers of some of our favorite songs along with some of her own original music.
