It's Surprisingly Easy to Clear Your Netflix Viewing History

Tired of getting Netflix recommendations based on that one show you stopped watching after two episodes and need to delete your Netflix history? Or maybe you just want to start clean on your "continue watching" section. Good news: you can remove a title from your Netflix viewing activity to fix that!

Maybe you don't want to be reminded of that time you caved in and finally decided to watch "You" years after the rest of the world, because, you know, "Bridgerton" is much better suited for your refined taste, anyway. Or maybe you decided to marathon every season of "Love Is Blind" and "Selling Sunset" but you don't want any more reality TV recommendations. Or maybe you just want to keep your repeat viewings of the sexiest scenes in "Sex/Life" private from your roommate (though Netflix's password-sharing rules may also help in that regard).

Instead of having a bunch of Netflix shows you haven't streamed in ages clogging up your watch feed — and skewing your recommendations — there's a handy little feature that lets you remove the stuff you don't want in your watch history anymore. It's one of many Netflix hacks that lets you remove individual episodes, movies, or entire shows from your history, so you've only got the stuff you actually want in the algorithm.

Read ahead to find out how to clear your viewing history.

How to Delete Netflix History

Turns out, clearing out your Netflix watch history is way easier than you think! It mostly involves you toggling around your profile page, where you'll eventually be presented with a list of every single title you've ever watched before deciding which ones stay and which ones get the boot. Once you do this, Netflix's algorithm resets so you'll no longer see recommendations for shows and movies that feel irrelevant to your current interests.

Follow these easy steps ahead to clear your Netflix history now!

You'll be presented with a long list of every episode and movie you've watched, along with dates (yes, please enjoy this revelation of what yours truly has been watching lately). Step 5: Clear an Entire Show

If you want to clear out an entire show from your viewing history, you'll see an option to do so after deleting one episode to "Hide Series." Clicking this option will remove every episode of the show from your viewing history and will mean that Netflix's algorithm will no longer take it into account for recommending you new shows and movies. Happy viewing!
