The One World: Together at Home special united some of music's finest on April 18. Among the standout performers were John Legend and Sam Smith, who joined forces to sing a cover of Ben E. King's "Stand by Me." Legend played the piano and crooned with Smith as they showed off their beautiful vocals and delivered one of the most heartwarming performances of the evening.
The broadcast, which helped raise $127 million to support coronavirus response funds, was a collaboration between the World Health Organization, Global Citizen, and Lady Gaga. It was held to honor the healthcare workers who are battling the COVID-19 outbreak and encourage people around the world to stay optimistic. The star-studded roster of performers included Gaga, who sang "Smile," and Lizzo, who belted "A Change Is Gonna Come." Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, and Jennifer Lopez also gave us uplifting at-home sets. Watch Legend and Smith's heartfelt number in the clip above!
