Only Murders in the Building Season 3: Trailer, Release Date
Steve Martin and Martin Short Reveal "Only Murders in the Building"'s Season 3 Premiere Date
Watch out! This post contains spoilers.

"Only Murders in the Building" season three is officially in the books, and two of its stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, are so excited about it that they shared a new update for eager fans. At the April 29 stop on their joint "You Won't Believe What They Look Like Today!" comedy tour in Orlando, FL, the costars revealed their show's summer premiere date for season three.
According to fans in the audience (via Variety), the comedic duo were recounting their current projects when they displayed a photo of themselves with Selena Gomez and season three's highly anticipated guest stars, Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd, on the set of "OMITB." Martin shared, "Catch the new season Aug. 8," with Short adding, "Our show is like Steve trying to pee — it streams for 33 minutes."
Gomez is just as excited for the new season, having assured fans that it's just as "deliriously funny" as its predecessors. Gomez shared an Instagram photo with Streep on April 20, writing alongside the image, "Well we wrapped season 3 of @onlymurdershulu - I'm not sure I have enough words to explain just how beautiful this season has been."
"It has been deliriously hilarious, challenging and for me, an absolute dream," added Gomez. "I'll post more soon. But I'll I leave it with the woman I adore, look up to and love." Gomez also shared her post in her Instagram Story, adding, "That's a wrap."
The previous update Gomez gave fans on the beloved streaming series's third season was on March 21, when she posted two photos of herself wearing a wedding gown, white gloves, and combat boots while on set. Alongside the images, Gomez cryptically wrote, "I have no caption. Just a regular day at work. @onlymurdershulu."
Martin and Short also appeared in images with Gomez in the wedding gown, with Martin writing on Twitter, "Guess what just happened!" Later, paparazzi photos of the trio filming in their ensembles were released.

Gomez had shared other hints about the mystery series while filming. Back on Jan. 17, she posted a TikTok video featuring Martin and Short as well as a very familiar face: none other than Streep. Returning guest stars Rudd and Andrea Martin also appear in the video. "We're on set!" Gomez says. "The gang is back!" She then pans to Rudd, and finally to Streep, who sweetly asks if anyone needs anything.

Shortly after Gomez shared her video, Martin followed suit, posting a Twitter photo of himself, Streep, Rudd, Short, and Gomez together. "The filming of Season 3 of 'Only Murders in the Building' has begun!" he wrote. "A cast to dream of."
One of the most exciting updates thus far came on March 12, though, when Hulu dropped a short teaser trailer revealing a hint about Streep's character, who pops up during a table read for what is presumably for one of Oliver's productions. "Oh my God, it's me!" Streep laughs when it's her turn to speak. "Oh, I'm sorry. It's me, isn't it?"
Streep isn't the only new addition to "Only Murders in the Building" in season three. "Emily in Paris" star Ashley Park has also joined the series for season three, Deadline announced on Feb. 23. She stars in a recurring role for a character named Kimber, a Broadway ingenue. Additionally, back in October 2022, Deadline reported that Jesse Williams is now part of the "Murders" gang as well. The "Only Murders in the Building" Twitter account confirmed the news, along with Williams, who shared a single detective emoji.
"OMITB" wrapped its second season on Aug. 23, 2022, and it actually revealed season three's big mystery in the last moments of the finale: who killed Ben Glenroy? In the final episode of the season, the show fast-forwards a year and introduces another new cast member to the series, Rudd as Ben, who quickly drops dead. In season three, viewers will see more of the mysterious actor before he kicked the bucket. Williams, who's best known for his work on "Grey's Anatomy," has worked on Broadway in real life, most recently in the acclaimed run of "Take Me Out." It's very possible he will play a fake Broadway star in season three.
Hulu announced that the hit series had been renewed for a third season on July 11, 2022, shortly after it became one of the most-nominated TV series at the 2022 Emmys, scoring a whopping 17 nods for its first season, including outstanding comedy series. It won two, including outstanding guest actor in a comedy series for Nathan Lane.
In season two, Charles-Haden Savage (Martin), Oliver Putnam (Short), and Mabel Mora (Gomez) scramble to clear their names after Bunny is murdered, and it seems like they'll be prime suspects yet again in Ben's murder. The new mystery for season three also moves the center of the action away from the Arconia for the first time.
