Starz Finally Renews "P-Valley" For a Third Season: "Y'all Was Pressed, Huh?"

After 67 long days of waiting, Starz has finally renewed "P-Valley" for season three. Fans of the hit strip-club drama have been impatiently refreshing the show's social media pages ever since season two concluded on Aug. 14, and Starz, as well as the "P-Valley" cast, finally confirmed the news on Oct. 20 in a video announcement shared on Instagram.

"I am blessed beyond measure for this opportunity to write the next chapter of 'P-Valley.'"

"Pynk Posse, I got something to tell y'all," J. Alphonse Nicholson, who plays Lil Murda, says at the start of the clip as the rest of the cast chime in, holding up three fingers. "I need y'all to meet us down in Chucalissa for season three," Tyler Lepley, aka Diamond, concludes. The video's Instagram caption also confirmed the big news: "Y'all was pressed, huh? Season 3 is happenin' #PynkPosse! #PValley."

After yet another explosive season, "P-Valley"'s impact can no longer be denied, which is why Starz is finally bringing it back for another spin down at the Pynk. "'P-Valley' continues to keep viewers on the edge of their seats as it captures the nuances of the Mississippi Delta with an unprecedented level of humanity and artistry," said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz, in a press release. "This layered drama gets beyond the glitz through authentic and complex characters that have captured the hearts of critics and audiences alike. We cannot wait to see what Katori has in store for us in season three."

Creator Katori Hall echoed the excitement with her own statement that read, "I am blessed beyond measure for this opportunity to write the next chapter of 'P-Valley.' With its complex, dynamic, and beautifully flawed characters, this show is a love letter to marginalized communities in the American South who rarely see themselves reflected on screen, and it brings me immense joy to know that it has been embraced by folx worldwide. We wouldn't be getting back up on that pony, without our fiercely devoted Pynk Posse. Y'all are our fire."

While Hall admitted it may take a "Mississippi minute" for season three to grace our screens, we can probably predict that the season two cliffhangers will be addressed upon the show's return. In an August interview with POPSUGAR, Hall didn't dish on her immediate plans for season three, but she did share her general thoughts about the future of the series.

"I have thoughts as to what I want to do with the characters, in terms of their next chapters as individuals and as people in relationships, but obviously things can change once we get into the writers' room and just start talking out ideas," she shared. "But I'm very hopeful for all of the characters, even though there's some darkness that still needs to be dealt with for certain people."
