Dead of Summer: What We Already Know About the Suspicious Characters

As the new girl at camp, Amy struggles to make friends. In a flashback, we learn that she had actually planned on attending the Summer camp with her best friend from high school. The two had been inseparable, until one night they decided to sneak out to a party together. When the house got raided by the cops for underage drinking, her friend panicked and tried to climb out the window, only to plummet to her death.

It may seem like Alex is the superficial jerk of the group, but he's so much more than that. Through a flashback, we learn that he is actually from the Soviet Union and his real name is Alexi Fayvinov. Upon moving to America, he had witnessed his father being treated poorly for his immigrant status and so he decided to change his name to Alex. When he got older, he took a job at the dry cleaner where his father used to work and enacted revenge on his old boss. He found a tape of the boss cheating on his wife and used it as blackmail to steal clothes from the dry cleaner.

Carolina has a lot of insecurities when it comes to body image and boys. So far, we know that she has a big crush on Alex and is high school friends with Blair.

Aside from investigating the strange occurrences on the grounds, Garrett reveals to Amy that he used to be a camper. The Summer before his father was killed, he attended the camp and had his first kiss with a girl nicknamed "Braces."

It is later revealed that Jessie is actually "Braces." She is the mean girl at camp and will do anything to keep Garrett all to herself.

So far, the only thing we know about Joel is that he has a strong passion for film. Oh, and he is also hot for Camp Stillwater's owner, Deb Carpenter.

Drew may be a man of few words, but there is certainly more than meets the eye. In the first episode, we learned that Zelda Williams's character is actually transgender when he is shown wearing a sports bra.

Aside from being Carolina's BFF, Blair also has a huge crush on Drew.

Elizabeth Mitchell's character is incredibly stealthy. Other than her constant flirtation with Joel, she has a mysterious box hidden in her closet.
