For the duration of the show, Naz is adamant that he didn't kill Andrea, or that he genuinely doesn't remember. He's finally released from jail after the jury reaches a deadlock and Weiss declines a retrial. However, even with his freedom, Naz has difficulty adjusting back to his old life. His relationships with his mother and friends are damaged, people in his neighborhood can't stop staring and judging, and he's still doing the drugs he got hooked on behind bars.
Tensions are so high during the finale that it wouldn't have been surprising if Naz had met some kind of grisly fate — another arrest, death, or something similar. In a way, he still got both. His habits and reputation from being locked up are still around, and his old self is seemingly long gone. Now that he's free, how will he cope with all the changes?
