Not because everyone has been shipping this couple, but because these are the two characters we have collectively championed the most as leaders for the whole series. She has the name but loses everything, then builds herself back up; he has no name as a bastard, also loses everything (including his life), then builds himself up to a king. They have earned these leadership positions, and we, as fans of them both, should not have to choose between them. These two sharing the Iron Throne is the only thing that's fair.
