10 American Horror Story Actors Who Desperately Need to Come Back to the Show

Because it's an anthology series, American Horror Story can have so much fun with its cast and seasons. Creator Ryan Murphy tends to use the same handful of actors in each season, but there are a few great actors who are only mysteriously used for one season or so. Though there have been plenty of memorable cameos, there are lots of past American Horror Story actors we want to see back. There's always a chance that one of these faces could pop up in the Cult cast, as Murphy is fond of doing, so we're hoping that by putting this out into the world, maybe one of these stars will come back (to Cult or to a season beyond this one).

Adam Levine

Adam Levine memorably becomes one of Bloodyface's victims in season two, American Horror Story: Asylum, but he hasn't been back on the show since then. Though Levine has dabbled in acting before, there's something contextually odd about seeing him on a horror show that's also totally delightful. He's sexy and charismatic and makes a great murder victim. Bring him back!

Jenna Dewan Tatum

Jenna Dewan Tatum

It's a similar situation with Jenna Dewan Tatum, who played Levine's better half — and who also died at the hand of Bloodyface. It's fun seeing Dewan Tatum in such a gory show. Maybe she could pop up as a murderous dancer and actually survive this time?

Joseph Fiennes

Joseph Fiennes

Fiennes has been doing some equally chilling work on The Handmaid's Tale, so we've been reflecting on what a talented actor he is . . . and why it's a crime that he's only been on the show's second season.

Max Greenfield

Max Greenfield

Max Greenfield is clearly in the Ryan Murphy club — he's in the next season of American Crime Story as Santo Versace. So we have to wonder why he was only in Hotel. It's so fun seeing Greenfield outside of his New Girl character, Schmidt. Here's hoping he shows up in Cult!

Ian McShane

Ian McShane

Ian McShane is terrifying on the Asylum season as a killer Santa, so as much as I'd like to never think of him in that costume again, McShane is an incredible character actor (remember how impactful he was in just one episode of Game of Thrones?) and could come back and make another huge impression.

Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell

American Horror Story is always better when it's more glam, which is why Campbell needs to return. It's been too long since her Hotel stint.

Zachary Quinto

Zachary Quinto

Zachary Quinto has technically been in more than one season. In addition to being a regular on Asylum, he also has a small role in the first season. But since he has the honor of being the scariest villain ever on this show, it's time for Quinto to reclaim a stake in the series. After having the image of him as Bloodyface, wouldn't it be great to have your brain messed with by having him come back as a protagonist?

Chrissy Metz

Chrissy Metz

Chrissy Metz was pretty unknown when she guested on Freak Show, but fast-forward a few years, and now the actress has been nominated for an Emmy for This Is Us. There have been a few American Horror Story/This Is Us crossovers, so to see Metz return would be a cool full-circle moment.

Dylan McDermott

Dylan McDermott

Dylan McDermott has also technically been in two seasons, but those were way back in one and two. What happened? The sexy star is the prototypical dark-haired, mysterious AHS hunk (trust me: American Horror Story is built on them), so we need the original one to come back, smolder, and wreak havoc.

Connie Britton

Connie Britton

The ultimate. The luminous, incredible Connie Britton has only been in season one as one of the "Murder House" victims, and it's completely nonsensical that the actress hasn't been back since. She's still in Murphy's circle — she played Faye Resnick in American Crime Story — so we assume that her Nashville duties have kept her away. Now that her character has been killed off of that show, it's high time Britton graces the series with her presence again.
