9 Bachelor Scandals That Are Almost Too Wild to Be True

As dedicated fans of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, we've seen every tear, every fight, and every shocking rose ceremony, but there are some events that just stand out in our minds as being the most catastrophic. OK, maybe we're being a little dramatic, but the show's scandals have been really wild.

While we can only imagine what kind of fun we can expect from the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, we can take a look at past ones and those standout times the singles and couples on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, and even Bachelor Pad (remember that one?) left us thinking, "What the hell just happened?"

Brad was dubbed the most hated Bachelor at the end of season 11. He got down to the final rose with Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas — and didn't choose either of them. This was the first and only time this has ever happened on the show, and frankly, America didn't know how to handle it. DeAnna ended up becoming the Bachelorette and was proposed to in her finale, but they eventually broke up.

Brad got his second chance at love on season 15 of The Bachelor. This time, he proposed to single mother Emily Maynard. The couple lasted three months after the finale aired.

Jason Mesnick Picks the Wrong Girl

We first met Jason in season four of The Bachelorette, when he was on the hunt for DeAnna Pappas's heart. He made it the final two, but she ultimately went with Jesse Csincsak. Single father Jason won over Bachelor Nation and became the next Bachelor on season 13. When he got down to the final two women, basically every Bachelor and Bachelorette's biggest fear came true — feeling that you picked the wrong person.

Jason chose Melissa Rycroft, but on After the Final Rose, he revealed that he still had feelings for the runner-up, Molly Malaney. Melissa gave him her engagement ring back, and Molly came out on stage. Jason asked Molly for a second shot and said that he was still in love with her. That second shot happened, and the two ended up getting married and having a family! And they even beat the Bachelor odds and are still together.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. from season 22 famously did the same, first proposing to Becca Kufrin, then leaving her and getting engaged to Lauren Burnham.

Rozlyn Papa Is Accused of an Inappropriate Relationship With a Producer

Rozlyn was competing for Jake Pavelka's heart on season 14 of The Bachelor when Chris Harrison approached her. He let her know that this situation had never happened before, but they just let go one of the producers of the show — and now it was time for her to leave. Rozlyn was accused of having a physical relationship with the producer. When Chris confronted her, she didn't deny it and left that night.

The Rozlyn/producer relationship wasn't the only drama on season 14 of The Bachelor. This one involved the Bachelor himself! Jake proposed to Vienna on the season finale, and the two seemed totally in love. However, the two broke up and had a sit-down with Chris Harrison.

Vienna revealed that things began going downhill about a month after the show ended. She felt that when they were alone, he didn't act very interested in her. But then Chris brought up comments Vienna had made about Jake being emotionally abusive. Chris asked why Vienna ran to the tabloids with her side of the relationship and breakup, to which she answered that she wanted her voice to be heard.

Jake finally jumped into the conversation and expressed how disgusted he was that she sold the story. Fast forward a bit in the interview, and Vienna was near tears as Jake was telling his side — during which he told her to stop interrupting him. The two went back and forth when Jake sternly told her, "Please stop interrupting me!" Vienna stormed off crying, and that was the end of it.

Michelle Kujawa Hooks Up With the Sound Guy

Michelle didn't find love with Jake or on season one of Bachelor Pad, but she did move on to the first season of Bachelor in Paradise. She voluntarily took herself off the show, saying that she didn't make a connection with any of the men. On her last night in Paradise, she stayed at a hotel nearby, where she hooked up with the audio guy Ryan Putz. When a producer knocked on the door to check on Michelle, Ryan decided to jump off of the 25-foot roof and broke both of his legs. "It looked like it was just like six feet," Ryan said. To top it off, he was fired.

Kaitlyn Bristowe Hooks Up Before the Fantasy Suite

Kaitlyn was a fan favorite on Chris Soules's season 19 of The Bachelor for being so real and silly. She was sent home and became the Bachelorette on season 11.

Everyone knows that the Fantasy Suite episode is when things really heat up among the singles. After all, it's their first chance to really be alone together overnight. But earlier in the season, Kaitlyn was making out on a couch with Nick Viall on a date. The two moved to behind closed doors and had sex. Now why is this such a big deal? Well, it really shouldn't be, because consensual adults can do whatever they please, but it was the first time (that we know of) that a couple didn't wait until the Fantasy Suite to take their relationship to the next level.

What's kind of funny is that Nick made it to the final two, but Kaitlyn said goodbye to him and accepted Shawn Booth's proposal. The two are still together.

Chad Johnson Lasts 24 Hours in Paradise

Oh Chad, what can we say about Chad? Well, the protein-lover was dubbed "the villain" on JoJo Fletcher's season 12 of The Bachelorette. He certainly rubbed a lot of men in the house the wrong way and continued that when he went on Bachelor in Paradise season three.

On the first night, he made out with Lace Morris, got wasted, was mean to other contestants, and passed out in the sand. The next morning, when Chris Harrison confronted Chad in front of the group, he was unapologetic and was asked to leave. Let's just say that Chad didn't take that well. "You're gonna sit here and you're gonna try to make me look like a b*tch," Chad said to Chris, and he also threatened to fight him before making his exit.

Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson Shut Down Paradise

Bachelor in Paradise season four wasn't even 48 hours into filming when it was completely shut down right before the first rose ceremony. But why?

Flashback to the day before, when all the singles first arrived and Corinne and DeMario seemed to vibe right away. During the first night in Paradise, Corinne and DeMario had both been drinking and flirting and jumped into the pool together with their clothes on. The next morning, a couple of the contestants had breakfast together, including Corinne and DeMario, and things seemed fine. But later that night when Paradise was shut down, headlines began popping up, indicating that it was far from it.

Filming was suspended as allegations of misconduct arose. Investigations found no foul play, and the cast was brought back to Mexico, sans Corinne and DeMario. Each party had their chance to sit down with Chris Harrison and tell their side of the story. Neither one of them seemed to have ill feelings toward the other, despite the emotional strain they endured. The two even talked to Chris together, and things seemed like they were going to be OK.

Later, the two were allegedly friendly with each other, as seen on Corinne's sister's Instagram, but Corinne sent a message loud and clear to TMZ after it posted a story about their relationship.

Hannah Brown Discovers Her Fiancé Jed Wyatt Had a Girlfriend Back Home

In season 15 of The Bachelorette, Hannah Brown gives Jed Wyatt her final rose, and he proposes. However, during the time between that happening and the finale airing on TV, news broke that Jed had a girlfriend back home. Haley Stevens revealed that they had been dating for a few months and had exchanged "I love yous" and even gone on vacations together. She said when Jed got the call for the show, he told her he was going to go because it would be a boost for his music career, and she was supportive, as she assumed he'd come right back to her.

Hannah found out about all of this at the same time as the general public and confronted Jed about it, which was all shown on her season finale. Fast forward to her live "After the Final Rose" segment with Chris Harrison, where she revealed that she and Jed are no longer together and never will be.

And the best twist in all of this? At the very end of the finale episode, Chris brought out Hannah's No. 2 pick Tyler Cameron, and she low-key asked him on a date. So, we'll see how that goes!
