Helmed by "Buffy the Vampire Slayer's" Marti Noxon and the late Jean-Marc Vallée, HBO's dark and twisted "Sharp Objects" is based on Gillian Flynn's mystery thriller novel of the same name. "Stranger Things" isn't strictly a murder-mystery series, but it does share a gritty, dark tone that can be found in "Sharp Objects."
