The comedy follows the life of Kimmy Schmidt (Ellie Kemper), who finally escapes a bunker and is now living in New York City and trying to figure out life. She was taken as a young girl, so her perceptions of the world are a bit skewed, but with her roommate and landlord's help and her boss/friend Jacqueline (Jane Krakowski), things are looking up.
