Maritza's ending is quite possibly the most gut-wrenching of them all. Swept up in an ICE raid while on parole, Maritza desperately tries to get her birth certificate to prove she's a US citizen. That's when her mother reveals that she'd lied to her all her life: Maritza was born in Colombia. On top of that, Maritza gets caught sharing the number of an immigration attorney hotline with other detainees. She gets deported to Colombia and is last seen, along with other women, fading away one by one.
