In a flashback to three months prior, we get a glimpse of Boomer devouring his last meal as a free man and getting face tattoos in preparation for his future in the slammer. But we soon find out that Boomer isn't there to stay. To get back on Rio's good side, Beth asks him for another job, which ends up being traveling across the country to pick up Boomer, who has escaped prison after starting a fire. Boomer asks the girls to make a stop by his nana's house before being dropped off in Canada, but upon arriving, they learn that his nana died in her sleep a week earlier.
