Couple Violet Barnes (Emily Blunt) and Tom Solomon (Jason Segel) are both successful in their careers: Violet is a psychologist and Tom a sous-chef. The two are engaged and plan on getting married, but an opportunity for Violet states away puts their plans on pause.
