How Old Are the Characters in "Bridgerton"? Let's Investigate

According to the script for the pilot episode, obtained by Deadline, Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) is 28 when the show begins, which makes him 29 in season two. This tracks with the flashbacks this season in which viewers learn that Anthony was nearly an adult when his father died. The youngest Bridgerton sibling, Hyacinth (Florence Hunt), was born shortly after the family's loss. She's about 11 years old in season two, placing Anthony firmly in his late teens at the time of his father's death.

The second Bridgerton child, Benedict (Luke Thompson), is listed as 26 in the pilot episode script, making him 27 in season two.

In the season two finale, when Anthony criticizes Colin (Luke Newton) for taking funds out of the family account, Benedict defends his younger brother, noting that Colin is old enough — at "one and 20," or 21 years old — to make an investment if he chooses. The "Bridgerton" books have Colin at 23 by this point in the series, but it seems Netflix decided to age him down a bit.

The pilot script describes Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) as being 18 years old, making her 19 in season two. Again, this differs from the first "Bridgerton" book in which Daphne is 21.

Edwina is 17 in the "Bridgerton" book that inspired the second season, and while it's likely that she's the same in the show, it's possible Netflix adjusted her age, as they did Kate's. Kate is younger in the book — around 21 — which would make Edwina about 22 years old if their age gap remained consistent.

The pilot script lists Eloise's best friend, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), as 17, making her 18 in season two.

Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker) is 17 when she arrives at the Featherington home in season one. Now married with two children, Lady Crane is 18 in the show's second season.
