A Breakdown of BTS's Many Grammy Nominations

BTS didn't earn their first official nomination until two years later at the 2021 Grammy Awards. Their first English-language single, "Dynamite," which was released in August 2020, scored a nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The achievement made BTS the first K-pop act to ever be nominated for a Grammy. Although the group lost to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande's "Rain On Me," their nomination paved the way for even more Grammys success in the future. It's worth noting BTS also made Grammys history that year by becoming the first Korean act to ever perform at the Grammys (albeit virtually from Korea amid the COVID pandemic).
