"Selling Sunset": The Cast's Friendships Behind the Scenes

On its face, "Selling Sunset" is a show about high-end real estate, but behind the perfectly polished windows and carefully selected decor, the true stars of the show are the ladies of The Oppenheim Group. The "Selling Sunset" cast has famously had their ups and downs throughout the show's five seasons, most recently resulting in allegations against Christine Quinn that put her at risk of termination.

When the show first premiered in 2019, the crew — not counting the members of the team off screen — consisted of Brett and Jason Oppenheim, the agency's cofounders; Quinn; Mary Fitzgerald; Maya Vander; Heather El Moussa; Davina Potratz; and newcomer Chrishell Stause, who spent most of the season proving herself to the existing cast members. Between snide comments from Quinn and Potratz, tension quickly mounted among the cast members.

In season two, Amanza Smith, the Oppenheim brothers' and Fitzgerald's longtime friend, joined the crew, followed by Emma Hernan and Vanessa Villela in season four and Chelsea Lazkani in season five. With each new cast member came new subplots — and new layers of drama — that made some friendships seem questionable at best, while strengthening others along the way.

Despite the onscreen drama, the cast's friendships are relatively rock solid when the cameras aren't rolling. From Stause and El Moussa arm wrestling on a boat to Fitzgerald deeming herself most likely to cancel plans at the last minute in a TikTok game with Stause and Hernan, the Oppenheim crew's social media accounts are basically a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the real estate agents' friendships.
