When Issa Rae and HBO Max first announced Sweet Life: Los Angeles back in May, we were intrigued. Now that the cast has been revealed and we've gotten the first official trailer for the show, we are more than ready to experience the "sweet life" — mainly because, unlike many other similar reality series, it centers on a group of Black friends. "We're so proud to present a grounded and fun slice of young Black LA life," Rae previously shared with Deadline. "We hope the HBO Max audience will relate to and fall in love with this group of friends as much as we have." A refreshing take on the unscripted genre, the series "gives an honest and unique look into what it means to be young, Black, and in constant pursuit of one's dreams."

The unscripted series features a group of longtime friends in their mid-20s. Included is PR professional Amanda Scott, health care professional Briana Jones, artist and fashion designer Cheryl Des Vignes, marketer Jerrold Smith II, CEO of Hypland Jordan Bentley, entrepreneur P'Jae Compton, and founder of House Party Creative Tylynn Burns.
