Dax Shepard Once Nursed on Kristen Bell's Boob — but Calm Down, Because the Reason Is Pretty Heroic

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are relationship role models to many a married couple, but what the actress admitted in the latest episode of her web series Momsplaining will have you either swooning over his problem-solving skills or simply swooning from extreme awkwardness, depending on how you feel about, um, breastfeeding your partner.

In the episode, in which she and Scandal star Katie Lowes talk about the struggles of breastfeeding (there's a visual demonstration of getting a perfect latch that involves a croissant and an especially large grape, and it's profoundly amazing), Kristen reveals that she's had mastitis three times.

Although she admitted to often trying to avoid taking antibiotics, she acknowledged that you don't mess around with a blocked milk duct because it can lead to infection, which can lead to a lot of bad things — among them, death. "You know what I like more than antibiotics?" she asked. "Life."

But the third time she had mastitis, they were out of town and couldn't call their doctor, and it was right after her baby had stopped nursing. She didn't have many options.

"So I said to my husband, 'I'm going to need you to suck this out. We could talk about it, we could be weird about it, or you can just go ahead and nurse,'" she said. "He had a cup next to him. He was pulling out and spitting into this cup and I've never been more in love in my life."

Not sure the rest of us feel the same way, but good on them for getting the job done!
