Embrace Documentary to Inspire Women to Love Their Bodies
This Body-Image Documentary Was Inspired by a Woman Who Was Happier After Weight Gain
Taryn Brumfitt, like so many other women, is seeking to help women embrace their bodies and love themselves. Founder of the Body Image Movement, which teaches women the power that comes with positive body image, Taryn's mission is to "harness and facilitate positive body image activism by leading a global movement that creates a shift in the way women think about themselves and their bodies."
Her documentary, Embrace, was inspired by her desire to teach her daughter to love her body — but first, she realized, she had to love her own body. She entered herself into a bodybuilding competition, which gave her a "perfect" body, but it didn't seem to change how she felt about herself.

It wasn't until she gained some weight back and posted the above before-and-after photo to Facebook — which immediately went viral — that she realized that body image is all about loving your body however it is. Embrace is in preproduction now that it has met its Kickstarter goal and will start shooting in July.
