Aldi's Wine Advent Calendar Is Now Available in the US, So Bottoms Up, Friends!
Hello, Merlot! Get excited, wine-lovers, because Aldi just released its wine Advent calendar for 2018, and it's now — wait for it — available in the US! Last year, the grocery store chain's calendar was only available in the UK, forcing us Americans to admire it from afar. This year, catch us saying "Bottoms up!" nearly every day in December thanks to its 24 windows of "wine joy."
Although the Festive Collection Wine Advent Calendar was officially released on Nov. 7, it'll be out in limited quantities, and if you're lucky enough to find it in your local store (check here to see if your Aldi has it!), you're limited to one calendar per customer (so bring your friends!). As for the price, it may vary between stores, but it's been reported that it'll sit around the $70 mark.
Each Advent calendar contains two 6.3-ounce servings of the following wines:
- Prosecco Extra Dry, Italy
- Chardonnay, Australia
- Chenin Blanc, South Africa
- Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand
- White Zinfandel, USA
- Cabernet Sauvignon, Australia
- Pinot Grigio, Italy
- Malbec, Argentina
- Shiraz, Australia
- Red Blend, Italy
- Merlot, Chile
- Sauvignon Blanc, Chile
If you're still reading this, what are you doing?! Get yourself to Aldi, STAT! And if, like me, you sadly don't have an Aldi local enough to justify a trek (though, for wine, it's worth it), lust after the wine Advent calendar ahead, and pour yourself a glass of whatever you've got open at home.
