15+ New Attractions Coming to Walt Disney World in 2019, Because Yes, It Can Get Even More Magical

One of the most exciting openings in 2019 is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. While the new land will open first at Disneyland Resort in California (Summer 2019), guests will have to wait until Fall 2019 to experience this new land at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. The land will have two attractions and a restaurant, and the music is all going to be done by legendary composer John Williams.

On Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, guests will join a battle between the First Order and the Resistance, including a faceoff with Kylo Ren. If you love Star Wars, you are not going to want to miss this one.

Take the controls of the infamous Millennium Falcon inside Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will allow guests to sit in one of three roles aboard the ship for a memorable experience.

The Disney Skyliner is a new transportation system coming to Walt Disney World in Fall 2019. This gondola system will connect Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four different resorts: Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and the new Disney Vacation Club property, Disney's Riviera Resort.

As part of the celebration of Mickey's 90th birthday, a new street party show is debuting at Magic Kingdom. Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party will combine live singers and beloved Disney characters for a dance party to some of The Mickey Mouse Club's most popular songs.

With Illuminations: Reflections of Earth ending Summer 2019, Epcot Forever will replace the old nighttime spectacular for a limited run in Fall 2019. This new show will feature classic Epcot music, fireworks, lighting, lasers, and special-effect kites.

Starting Jan. 18, 2019, the Incredibles are making their way over to Hollywood Studios. Pixar Place will be transformed into a Municiberg city block, and guests will be able to meet Edna Mode and honor Mr. and Mrs. Incredible and Frozone with a party.

Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy is opening Spring 2019 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This new attraction is going to put guests right into Cars, where Lightning is going to demonstrate what he's learned over the years with a new racing simulator and wraparound screen.

Starting May 2019, there's going to be a new nighttime entertainment show at Hollywood Studios, Wonderful World of Animation. This show is going to use state-of-the-art projection technology to celebrate 90 years of Disney animation, starting with Mickey Mouse!

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is set to open to guests in Fall 2019. This new attraction is located in the Chinese Theater where The Great Movie Ride was and is the first-ever themed to Mickey Mouse!

Starting Jan. 18, 2019, Disney's Animal Kingdom is launching a new dance party featuring Disney friends from The Lion King, including Timon and Rafiki. This new show will be presented daily on the Discovery Island stage.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is opening a new tower in Summer 2019. This 15-story building will feature a rooftop restaurant with views of the nightly fireworks.

There's going to be a new Disney Vacation Club resort opening in Fall 2019. The Disney Riviera Resort is themed after the European grandeur Walt Disney experienced in his travels.

Recently opened in December, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill is going to be another popular celebrity chef-run eatery at Disney Springs in 2019. The new restaurant features some of Wolfgang Puck's signature dishes, including smoked salmon pizza.

Disney Springs is the place to be for dining. Opening Summer 2019, City Works Eatery & Pour House will welcome guests in to eat, drink, and hang out, all while watching a 165-inch screen, which is perfect for viewing your favorite sports team.

Chef José Andrés is bringing traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine to Disney Springs in early 2019.
