Parents Decorate School Bathrooms With Positive Quotes

Parents Painted Positive Messages in School Bathrooms, and Honestly, Every School Should Do This

Most school bathrooms are not much to look at. The closest thing to artwork that I've seen as a teacher is some rogue graffiti, and the best you can hope for is that it's clean. For one group of parents with kids at Mary Moore Elementary School in Arlington, TX, that was just not good enough.

Over the weekend, a group of parents transformed the school's boring bathrooms into literal works of art. Filled with inspiring messages and decorations on the walls and stall doors, the children will get reminded about how special they are on every trip to the restroom. It's so easy for children to get bogged down by minor hiccups at school, which can ruin their whole day and impact how they feel about school and themselves, so to have these types of reminders and affirmations at the ready is huge.

What these parents did doesn't just beautify their children's community: they sent a clear message to their kids that the adults in their lives respect and value them, which makes this simple act all the more powerful.
