Dad-to-Be Builds the Ultimate Night Light

Using painter's tape and string, Brian created a ceiling grid to help him figure out where to drill holes.

In order to prevent a fire, Brian had to clear all the insulation out of the attic. Nine trash bags and a good sweep later, the job was done.

Brian invested in a kit that included a light source with a twinkle wheel already installed, 600 fiber strands, a remote, a color wheel, and a key fob to turn it off and on remotely.

Brian used zip ties to keep the bundles from becoming tangled.

Brian ran the strands through the various holes. During this process, he only broke four of the 600 strands.

Once the pattern was complete, Brian glued all the strands in place.

The final step involved spraying the ceiling with two coats of paint with a portable Wagner paint sprayer. Brian then trimmed all the strands, leaving about three to four millimeters of excess sticking out. He left excess so if he decides to repaint the ceiling, he won't have to redo the entire project.

The final product awaits Brian's son in June.
