16 Reasons This Mom Can't Wait For the Last Day of School
The countdown is on to my daughter's last day of first grade and when my son's last day of preschool ends. Despite my love and appreciation for my children's schools (and the precious kid-free hours they provide me), I can't wait for Summer break. Why, you might ask, is a mother who's often expressed how Summer is her most stressful season also excited for school to end? The truth is, I think I need a break from it even more than my kids seem to.
There are so many reasons I, an admitted Type A control freak, can't wait to say goodbye to the structure of the school year and say hello to the free range Summer life. Sure, it's very possible that I'll reverse this position a week or two into the break, but for now, here are the many reasons I'm beyond ready for the last day of school.
