A Photographer Captured Everyday "Dad Moments," and Wow, Can We Frame Them All?

Giedre Gomes, a photographer from Indiana, knows a thing or two about capturing those raw parenting moments. And after a photo series she did focusing on stay-at-home moms went viral a few weeks ago, she knew she simply had to capture all the authentic moments that dads live through.

"Last month I created a photo series for Mother's Day to show how my daily life looks, and that went viral," she told POPSUGAR. "A lot of people were complaining, saying, 'What about dads?' That's why I decided to do a similar shoot for Father's Day."

Giedre admits that this time around it was hard for her to schedule times to take the photos since her subjects all had full-time jobs.

"They only have weekends off, whereas the women I photographed were mostly stay-at-home moms," she explained. "I would go usually on the weekends to set everything up and take the photos. It was fun, and the dads were good sports."

"You don't have to be a biological father to be a great dad."

Going into the project, Giedre knew she wanted the series to have a certain essence, which for her, meant focusing on dads who were especially involved in their children's lives. She also explained that she wanted the series to be symbolic of all the hardworking dads out there.

"Let's not forget that there are so many amazing adoptive dads and stepfathers out there," she said. "You don't have to be a biological father to be a great dad."
