Lady Gaga Just Performed an Entire Magic Show at the Met Gala, and It Was the Definition of Camp
Lady Gaga's Met Gala look(s) can be summed up in one word: extra. Or with respect to the 2019 gala's camp fashion theme, we'd say, she nailed it. The singer and actress graced the Met stairs wearing a hot pink parachute gown by friend and designer Brandon Maxwell. The look came complete with a bow-adorned headband and a clear wagon full of Rosé in tow with the words "Haus of Gaga" written on it. That's not all; she styled her look with long gold eyelashes and had her escorts carrying umbrellas around her.
Once she hit the carpet, her escorts and Brandon helped her remove her pink gown to show off a black gown underneath. She then posed holding up an umbrella for a Mary Poppins moment. Just when we thought her theatrical performance was over, Gaga walked back down the stairs and back up to show off a third dress — yes, a third! She posed in a hot pink silk dress with giant Linda Farrow sunglasses and a telephone in hand.
Phew! Take a deep breath, because there's more. Gaga then made her third and final change of her red carpet walk and took off basically everything. She ended up in a black sequined bra, underwear, sheer tights, and bedazzled platform boots. How very Gaga; how very camp. Read on to see all angles of her multiple outfits.
