The Biggest Trends From London Fashion Week

No outfit at LFW was complete without a necktie. Seen everywhere from Roksanda to Topshop, a black or white bow tied tightly at the neck added a prim touch to blouses, suits, and even coats. Things got more bohemian at Temperley, where long scarves and pussy bow blouses turned models into chic pirates, while skinny bows topped Edwardian dresses at Erdem.

Your classic Winter coat gets a huge overhaul for Autumn/Winter 2016, and the bigger you go, the better! At Alexander McQueen, models sported duvet-inspired quilted evening coats, while Christopher Kane's models looked like they'd turned fluffy bath mats into trims for their oversize toppers. It might seem outrageous, but think how cozy you'll be!

Long sleeves, floor-length hems, luxurious fabrics like lace and velvet, and Edwardian-inspired touches make up this luxe formalwear trend. At Daks, the dinner jacket was the basis of the look, while at Simone Rocha and Erdem, prissy lace got a modern makeover.

The cape trend isn't going away — it's only getting more experimental! Look for built-in capes, embroidered details, or even a little sparkle. London's designers have clearly been doing their research, as Pantone's two colors of 2016 popped up everywhere.
