These Oscar Nominees Will No Doubt Be Some of the Night's Best Dressed

We can't wait to see Cate — who is nominated for lead actress in Carol — at the Oscars. While her style is typically classic and feminine — much like her Givenchy gown from 2011 — the fringed number she wore to the Golden Globes was a somewhat edgy choice for the star. Perhaps she'll go the same route this time around.

Brie Larson's stylist, Cristina Ehrlich, has told us personally that she doesn't follow trends, so perhaps the star's Oscar dress will be more classic than anything. Brie's been slaying the fashion scene as of late and also received a Golden Globe for her role in Room, so no doubt all eyes will be on her and she'll show up ready to stun.

J Law's a Dior gal, so it's safe to assume the classic and elegant fashion house will dress her for this trip down the red carpet as well. Still, after seeing the Joy star in a short Versace minidress, we're kind of hoping she'll try something sexier. A plunging neckline, printed, or embellished styles would be a welcomed change for Jen and would definitely make the night even more interesting.

If you aren't paying attention to Saoirse Ronan's style, now's the time to start. The actress, who was nominated for her role in Brooklyn, has already worn everything from prints to pants to capes, so naturally we're expecting something statement-making for the biggest award show of the year.

Charlotte's a fashion icon who can even list It girls like Alexa Chung as part of her fan base. While she has an effortless vibe about her, she still manages to nail red carpet style, pulling off unexpected layering or pairing her gown with a leather jacket. More recently, the 45 Years star has been rocking pantsuits to premieres, so we've got high hopes she'll bring the structured look to award season.

Eddie's style is so good it's almost unbelievable. While many other men stick with a simple black tux, he loves switching it up, opting for standout colors, prints, or even velvet material. Will British GQ's Best Dressed man make us fall in love with his look all over again at the Oscars? It's safe to assume the answer's a yes.

One thing we really love about Steve Jobs star Michael Fassbender? His bow ties! Almost every time we see him, he's wearing one, giving his classic tux or suit some flair. We're sure he'll be rocking one on the red carpet this time around and looking very dapper alongside his girlfriend, Alicia Vikander.

At this point, Kate's a pro at red carpet style: she knows what works for her body, and that's long, formfitting gowns. But while the star enjoys her solids, we've got our fingers crossed for a sparkly or embellished something — with a nomination for Steve Jobs, it's definitely her time to shine!

We've already spotted her in everything from prints to apron-like dresses, so we're excited to see what she wears on this superglam night — it's safe to assume she'll look stunning.

Rachel's always up for a fashion dare, whether it's a sheer gown or a revealing suit. So the Spotlight star just might surprise us come Feb. 28: Will she show up in a naked dress? Will she give a jumpsuit a go? We'll definitely be waiting and watching for her red carpet arrival both anxiously and excitedly.

Is there anything better than when a rough and rugged guy gets dressed up for an award show? While we enjoy Tom's casual jeans and tees, we're ready to see him in this three-piece suit again, as he celebrates his Oscar nomination for his role in The Revenant.

It's anyone's guess which Lady Gaga will attend the Oscars: meat-dress-rocking singer or sophisticated actress. While she's nominated for her song "Til It Happens to You," we have a hard time imagining her wearing anything truly out there or unusual. Fingers crossed she goes glam again, similar to this red number from the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel.
