True Story: I've Never Met a Carrie Bradshaw Fall Layering Hack I Didn't Like

Carrie Bradshaw always knew exactly how to add that extra layer of style — not just to start a conversation, but, you know, for warmth too. Throughout all six seasons of the sitcom, then both films, she was constantly adding on extra accessories you never seem to think of before walking out the door: leather gloves just when you thought her outfit veered a little too simple (well, for Carrie anyway); or a silk neck scarf to play up the print on her busy jacquard coatigan, because even mixing three prints is never enough.

While I'm sure we can all picture Sarah Jessica Parker portraying her famous character in the same statement minidresses — the Dior newspaper look is one such example that comes to mind — it was when she showed off her layering techniques that we could truly appreciate her outfits for all seasons. But it was never just about layering with outerwear for Ms. Bradshaw — there were sweaters, scarves, and knee socks too. When you read on, you'll find little fall hacks Carrie employed with us barely blinking an eye the first time around. I'm just glad I was here to round up these tricks and tips.
