While most of us strive to hit our daily count of 10,000 steps, snow artist Simon Beck puts our goal to shame. The Somerset, England, native averages about 5,000 steps in an hour, not to mention in snow shoes.
Specializing in geometric designs, Simon begins by drawing it out in his head or out on paper, then brings it to life in large-scale murals in the snow. An average piece requires two hours of measuring and eight hours of walking, totaling to an insane 40,000 steps in a day's work. What began as a fun activity turned into his life occupation. "I started doing it as an easier alternative to hiking up a mountain when I wanted to exercise."
What's equally as impressive as his high step count is the art itself. The massive representations look like arctic crop circles and you can't help but be in awe. Simon also mentions in the video above that his work is a very physical exercise, which we don't doubt one bit. Talk about getting in your steps.
