PS: What are you wearing when you're working out by yourself?
RK: I tend to go a bit more neutral. Koral leggings and Heroine Sport are my two favorite brands that I wear regularly, because while they are neutrals in metallics or solids, they have a sleek look made of shiny material that's both comfortable and fun. I get more compliments and questions about those leggings than anything! I love a sleek monochromatic story of black, white, and gray. I don't tend to do a ton of this on camera, as it doesn't pop. Bright colors make it easier to see my form, especially in a dark studio.
PS: After you choose your outfit for a Peloton workout, what comes next?
RK: Hair! A ponytail is always easy, but I have long hair, so it can get very sweaty and fly around a lot. My signature "bulb braid" is one of my favorites . . . or space buns! I don't go too over the top with makeup. I wear just enough so you can see my features under the bright studio lights, but not so much that it will sweat all over my face throughout the duration of a workout. A pop of color on the lip is always a favorite, and when I can sneak in sparkles, I always do.
PS: Ever had any wardrobe malfunctions on camera?
RK: I have very thick hair and my mane has popped a few ponytail holders in her life. I was teaching a lower-body strength class recently and it popped in the first three minutes of class. I had to tie it up in a bun just using my hair (no tie) and keep it moving. As they say in show biz: "The show must go on!"
