It's been a year of highs and lows for Oreo. Can't keep up with every new flavor the beloved cookie brand has released in 2016 alone? We've got you covered. We've been putting our taste buds to the test all year long to bring you reviews of the best — and worst — flavors Oreo has come up with. Some of these are limited-edition flavors and might not be available at your grocery store anymore, but never fear: it's only a matter of time until Oreo comes out with the next out-of-the-box variation. Keep reading to see how Blueberry Pie, Cinnamon Bun, Choco Chip, and more 2016 flavors went over with our resident Oreo experts.

Best: Fruity Crisp

Fruity Pebbles and Oreos joined forces this year to bless us with a Fruity Crisp flavor, and our office just about lost its sh*t. Just looking at the colorful cookie is guaranteed to fill you with glee and take you back to your childhood — a nostalgic cereal plus an Oreo equals gold. The flavor did not disappoint whatsoever, and the crunchy bits of fruity cereal throughout the vanilla icing make it that much better.

Best: Cinnamon Bun

Best: Cinnamon Bun

Oreos that taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Yes, please. Cinnamon Bun Oreos are everything you want them to be: sweet, spiced, and churro-like. Dip these babies in milk, and you've got the next best thing to a gooey cinnamon roll straight out of the oven.

Best: Filled Cupcake

Best: Filled Cupcake

These Hostess-inspired Filled Cupcake Oreos offer the best of both worlds. They don't stray too much from the original cookie, but the layer of fudgy chocolate frosting surrounding the classic vanilla creme makes them even more decadent. Some of our tasters went as far as claiming these are better than an actual Hostess cupcake.

04
Best: Chocolate and Lemon Thins

Best: Chocolate and Lemon Thins

Oreo Thins debuted last year, but the second installment this year brought two new flavors: chocolate and lemon. Despite some initial backlash against the small size, our tasters couldn't deny the deliciousness of these cookies. Chocolate-lovers are guaranteed to appreciate the cocoa cookie and buttercream-like chocolate frosting, while fans of golden cookies and tart frosting will love the lemon flavor. These are permanent Oreo Thins flavors, so you can find them any time in your grocery store.

Meh: Strawberry Shortcake

Meh: Strawberry Shortcake

The artificial smell of Strawberry Shortcake Oreos hits you as soon as you open the package, but the bonus points come from the truly shortcake-like taste. This is definitely not the best Oreo flavor of the year, but it's also not the worst (more to come on that).

06
Meh: Blueberry Pie

Meh: Blueberry Pie

Alongside Fruity Crisp, Oreo debuted Blueberry Pie, and the best way to describe the purplish cookies is . . . meh. You'll want to stick to an actual slice of pie if you've got a craving, because these taste more like an overly sweet blueberry cupcake with a bit of an artificial aftertaste.

07
Meh: Choco Chip

Meh: Choco Chip

We really, really wanted to love these Choco Chip Oreos, but the flavor fell totally flat. The icing, while definitely reminiscent of chocolate chip cookie dough, leaves you with a chemical aftertaste. The saving grace is that they taste a whole lot better when heated in the microwave for a few seconds, but overall, these aren't necessarily worth a buy.

08
Worst: Swedish Fish

Worst: Swedish Fish

In a sad turn of events, Oreo released a Swedish Fish flavor in September. The limited-edition cookie is exclusive to Kroger, and if you don't have one nearby, don't worry — you're not missing out. The red filling smells and tastes similar to cherry Chapstick, and the texture is unpleasantly waxy. Our editors gave this flavor half a star out of five stars, proving it's quite possibly the worst Oreo flavor to ever hit shelves.
