For St. Patrick's Day, McDonald's has released an entire line of minty-chocolatey Shamrock drinks, just in time for St. Patrick's Day. You probably already know and love the original Shamrock Shake, but if you can shake away from your normal order, these are the four drinks to try!

Chocolate Shamrock Shake

McDonald's layers its minty green Shamrock Shake on top of its thick chocolate shake. It's garnished with whipped cream, crunchy green sugar crystals, and a cherry. We tried it with the Shamrock Shake Straw, designed to give you both flavors in one sip. I did taste both the chocolatey and minty flavors at once, but I don't think the cool swag is necessary to enjoy this delightful beverage. You'll be smitten by the soft-serve-like consistency and outrageously good vanilla-mint-chocolate trio of flavors. Apparently this has been on the "secret" menu for a while and I can see how this would be a fan favorite.

I expected the frappe to be made with the milkshake as the base. Instead, McDonald's combines a mocha frappe base, chocolate chips, ice, and mint mocha syrup (called Shamrock Shake syrup) in a blender. The whirled beverage is finished with whipped cream, green sugar crystals, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. We loved this frappe for its price point and luxurious flavor! My colleague said this tastes exactly like Starbucks' Java Chip Frappuccino but for a fraction of the cost. The chocolate chips add a slight crunch to chocolatey coffee drink, it's not too sweet, and all of the flavors you expect really come through. Consider this to be an indulgent way to wake up in the morning or to treat yourself in the afternoon.

Shamrock Mocha (or Hot Chocolate)

If you loved McDonald's peppermint mocha from the holiday season, then you'll fall for the Shamrock Mocha (or hot chocolate, if you don't want coffee). The smooth blend of mint, chocolate, coffee, and milk tastes a little more vanilla-y then the peppermint mocha, keeping it reminiscent of the Shamrock Shake. Don't miss out on the whipped cream topping and green sugar crystals.

Shamrock Iced Coffee

Even though McDonald's only advertised four new drinks in the Shamrock line, any of the McCafé drinks can be turned "Shamrock." An insider told us this Shamrock Iced Coffee has been the second most-ordered drink (first being the Shamrock Shake). We tried it and can see why! The crew blends iced coffee with the Mint Mocha Syrup to form a refreshingly cool, slightly chocolatey drink. You can order the Shamrock Iced Coffee with or without milk. It's like an affordable version of the Philz Mint Mojito. You'll wish you could order this during the Summertime when the heat really kicks in.
