This is a 13 pound organic turkey, flipped over breast side down. With sharp kitchen shears, it takes about 4 to 5 cuts on each side to remove the spine. The bones are soft. It's a lot easier than you might think. If this is something you don't want to do, then I'm sure the butcher at you grocery store/ Market will be happy to do for you. Don't forget, the reason we're doing this is cook time. By taking out the spine, I can cut the cook time down from 3 1/2 hours to an 1 1/2 hours at 375 degrees. It's the best turkey recipe I've ever made. #tftestkitchen #Thanksgiving A photo posted by tylerflorence (@tylerflorence) on Nov 24, 2015 at 1:41pm PST Share This Link Copy ← Use Arrow Keys → 9 Greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to cook a Thanksgiving turkey by removing the spine.
