Gone are the days when plain-old Oreos dominated cookie shelves. Instead, we've become accustomed to downright crazy Oreo flavors which seem to be announced on a pretty regular basis. From Swedish Fish Oreos to Cotton Candy Oreos and everything in between, we've allowed our curiosity — and undying love for Oreos — to lead us down the path of trying every single flavor. Some exceeded our highest expectations while others . . . let's just say we hope to never see again. Take a trip down Oreo memory lane and discover some of the wackiest cookie flavors that have ever existed. Based on our POPSUGAR editors' serious Oreo expertise and investigations, we've ranked them all from worst to best.

Swedish Fish Oreos

Swedish Fish Oreos

Where do we even begin with Swedish Fish Oreos? Undoubtedly the worst Oreo flavor we've ever tasted, these red and black cookies can best be described as Chapstick-flavored, waxy cookies. Clearly this was a limited-edition flavor, but if you ever spot it on shelves again, do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs.

Caramel Apple Oreos

Caramel Apple Oreos

Caramel Apple Oreos are like the quintessential caramel apple lollipops in cookie form . . . or at least, that's what you'd expect. Instead, we found that the Oreos were oddly sour and too artificial for our liking. The combination of the salty cookie, the sweet caramel, and the green apple filling just doesn't work.

Blueberry Pie Oreos

Blueberry Pie Oreos

Combining pie and Oreos? Genius! Well, sort of. Blueberry fans had high hopes for these Oreos with a purplish hue, but the flavor didn't quite stack up to our expectations. Insanely sweet and noticeably artificial, the flavor of these cookies is so intense that we could only handle half of one. Not the worst, but certainly not the best.

Chocolate Strawberry Oreos

Chocolate Strawberry Oreos

Released just in time for Valentine's Day in 2017, Chocolate Strawberry Oreos scream pure decadence and romance. But their scent and flavor unfortunately is as perfumey as something you'd spray on yourself before a date night out. The chemical-like aftertaste doesn't exactly get us in the mood for a romantic dinner, so we're sticking to good old-fashioned chocolate-covered strawberries.

11
S'mores Oreos

S'mores Oreos

S'mores Oreos — or S'mOreos, rather — sound so promising but fall flat. While you'd expect a marshmallow fluff type of filling, the white icing is sadly almost identical to the regular stuff. It's hard to distinguish these from a regular vanilla Oreo with chocolate frosting, and we're left wanting more! If your s'mores craving hits, we recommend making the real thing.

Strawberry Shortcake Oreos

Strawberry Shortcake Oreos

Strawberry Shortcake Oreos sounded so promising! Unfortunately, we think Oreo's strawberry-flavored creme is just not a strong suit. The cookies are entirely too sweet, and the filling almost tastes like strawberry syrup.

Choco Chip Oreos

Choco Chip Oreos

Not exactly a weird flavor but an unexpected one all the same, Choco Chip Oreos look more like a Chips Ahoy! cookie than an Oreo. But do they taste just as good? Sadly, no. The heavy amount of brown sugar makes the cookies a little too maple-forward, and there's an artificial aftertaste we can't get past.

08
Toasted Coconut Oreos

Toasted Coconut Oreos

Launched in the Fall of 2015, Toasted Coconut Oreos gave our taste buds a toasty twist we hadn't tried before. One of the most divisive flavors to date, the coconut-infused Oreos remind some people of Buttered Popcorn Jelly Belly, while others claim they taste like legit coconut cake. One thing's for sure: you have to be a true coconut-lover to appreciate this flavor.

07
Peeps Oreos

Peeps Oreos

Believe it or not, Peeps Oreos are not nearly as bad as we were expecting. Most people even went back for a second cookie! Reminiscent of Lucky Charms, these vibrant, marshmallowy Oreos are not sickeningly sweet and have a hint of crunchiness thanks to the sugar crystals in the creme. The only downside? Turns out Peeps Oreos have a rather embarrassing side effect: they turn your saliva (and poop, sorry!) pink.

Pumpkin Spice Oreos

Pumpkin Spice Oreos

Introduced in 2014, Pumpkin Spice Oreos were quite the polarizing flavor among Oreo fans. Pumpkin-spice-flavored foods tend to create two distinct sides: love or hate. Surprisingly, after biting into the buttery cookies for ourselves, our editors were delighted. They're not all that pumpkiny, and the orange creme filling has plenty of cinnamon. Far better than plenty other pumpkin spice products out there, we'd undoubtedly pick these up every Fall.

Cotton Candy Oreos

Cotton Candy Oreos

Just as pretty visually as they are tasty, Cotton Candy Oreos are one of our all-time favorites. The filling really does taste exactly like cotton candy — like creamy, condensed cotton candy. We could eat handful upon handful of these.

04
Red Velvet Oreos

Red Velvet Oreos

In a rare turn of events, Oreo released a flavor without vanilla or chocolate cookies: Red Velvet Oreos. With a deep-red cookie and white cream cheese filling, these legitimately taste like one of our favorite cake flavors. The best part? The filling is double stuffed, unlike most other limited-edition flavors.

03
Fruity Crisp Oreos

Fruity Crisp Oreos

Fruity Pebbles fanatics just about lost their minds when they discovered Fruity Crisp Oreos. Thankfully, they're as amazing as every cereal-lover would hope: crunchy, sweet, and reminiscent of childhood. With flavor hints of Trix and Fruity Pebbles, this colorful Oreo flavor is hands down one of the best.

02
Cinnamon Bun Oreos

Cinnamon Bun Oreos

We consider Cinnamon Bun Oreos official permission to eat Oreos for breakfast. Like a combination of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and a freshly baked cinnamon bun, these spiced cookies are to die for. The cinnamon-infused graham cookie gives us churro vibes, and we'd happily resort to buying a package of these instead of making homemade cinnamon rolls.

Marshmallow Crispy Oreos

Marshmallow Crispy Oreos

Marshmallow Crispy Oreos have our hearts forever and ever. Instead of eating Golden Oreos and Rice Krispies Treats side by side, this hybrid allows you to get the best of both worlds in one bite. The sprinkling of rice cereal in the icing adds a nice crunch, and the flavor is spot on. Here's hoping these throwback limited-edition Oreos make a comeback ASAP.
