Gluten-Free Dining Is Easy at These 9 Restaurant Chains

If you are following a gluten-free diet and tend to cook at home because you aren't sure which restaurants are gluten-free friendly, we found eight dining establishments that'll convince you to take a night off of kitchen duty. Whether you are in the mood for pizza, seafood, or chicken, each of these restaurants offers a full gluten-free menu with lots of dishes to choose from; not just one or two sad dishes that will leave you feeling underwhelmed.

Full disclosure: most of these restaurants (unless otherwise noted) cannot guarantee that your food won't come into contact with other gluten-containing items, so they do advise diners with celiac disease or severe allergies to speak with their practitioner to get the OK before dining there.

Don't worry, though. Each of these restaurants has an impressive dedication to gluten-free dining and your server or a manager will be more than happy to steer you in the right direction and ensure your food is prepared correctly.

True Food Kitchen

True Food's whole philosophy is that food should make you feel better and with that they have a range of gluten free options in constant rotation on their menu. You'll find butternut squash soup, charred cauliflower, and Korean noodles among their gluten-free offerings.

Uno Pizzeria

Pizza may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think gluten-free, but Uno Pizzeria is out to change that. It has recently launched its "Love All, Feed All" menu, which caters to a variety of dietary needs and offers more than 15 gluten-free options. From burgers served on Udi's gluten-free buns to thin crust gluten-free pizza, Uno has something for everyone.

BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse

BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse puts just as much care into their gluten-free offerings as they do into their regular menu items. Aside from their pizza, they offer gluten-free chicken, steak, and seafood dishes, along with salads, sides, and their famous big-enough-to-share gluten-free Chocolate Chip Pizookie.

Panera Bread

Panera Bread has a surprising number of gluten-free dishes for a restaurant with the name "bread" in the title. You can still enjoy their creamy tomato soup (sans croutons), rice- and quinoa-based grain bowls, and even a warm cup of hot chocolate. Because their menu changes seasonally, ask your server for the most up-to-date information on which soups, salads, sides, and beverages are (or can be made) gluten-free.

California Pizza Kitchen

California Pizza Kitchen utilizes gluten-free cauliflower crusts for five pizzas on their gluten-free menu. Not only do they use only verified gluten-free ingredients, they also prepare their pizzas according to the Gluten Intolerance Group's strict guidelines. If you're not in the mood for pizza, they have a variety of other menu items that are made with gluten-free ingredients, but only the pizzas are made in a gluten-free kitchen space.

P.F. Chang's

If you're craving P.F. Chang's well-known lettuce wraps, you'll be thrilled to know there is a gluten-free version! This popular dish is just one of many on their dedicated gluten-free menu, along with Pad Thai, fried rice, and more.

You may not have realized it, but Chick-Fil-A has had a gluten-free bun on its menu since 2017. If Chick-Fil-A's classic chicken sandwich isn't your thing, you can also order their grilled chicken dishes or their waffle fries. If you're into dipping, most of their dipping sauces are also gluten free. If you're unsure of what to order, ask your server or a manager for guidance or read over their allergen guide before your visit.

Bonefish Grill

Bonefish Grill is a must visit for seafood lovers, even if you're gluten-free. Their chefs worked with a team of registered dietitians to put together a full gluten-free menu with appetizers, salads, chicken, dessert, and, of course, seafood. If you're in the mood for a drink, they even list cocktail, wine, and beer options.

Outback Steakhouse

Outback knows a thing or two about steak, and they also know a few things about gluten-free dining. They've been offering gluten-free options for more than 10 years. The gluten-free menu is extensive and even includes the decadent Chocolate Thunder From Down Under — a huge brownie with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, chocolate shavings, and whipped cream.
