"The Home Edit" host Clea Shearer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022 after discovering a lump under her breast in the shower. "As someone who has a brain that requires organization and order and systems, it's tough to have a disease like cancer that does not follow any organized method. There is no system to put to place," Shearer told Popsugar in an exclusive interview.
Fortunately, before the year was over, Shearer was declared "cancer free" after having a mastectomy, necrosis surgery, and radiation. Throughout her treatment she relied on family and friends, like Christina Applegate (who also battled breast cancer) to push through, as well as journaling.
