Before close, our realtor advised us to create a "punch list" of items — big and minuscule — that the developers would need to address. I noted outlets that weren't working, a rust stain in our new kitchen sink, a crooked bathroom vanity light, and a dozen other issues. I also took the liberty of noting every last scratch in the wood floor and nick in the paint. I stand by that it was worthwhile to at least list them even though we got a passive-aggressive reply from the developer about mitigating "expectations of perfection."
