As 2016 comes to a close, Queen Letizia of Spain's style is only getting better — how does she always manage to outdo herself? For the first day of her official visit to Portugal with her husband, King Felipe VI, the royal wore a coat that without exaggeration will take your breath away.

The stunning lavender lace piece, featuring leaf and flower motifs, a simple V-neck silhouette and one-button appears to be from Letizia's favorite Spaish designer, Felipe Varela. Choosing to go monochrome from head to toe, the Queen paired her outerwear with a simple matching knee-length dress, Magrit pumps, suede gloves and a rectangular clutch, plus mauve eyeshadow and lipgloss. The only silver piece in her look? Her gorgeous drop earrings, which she highlighted by wearing her hair in a bun — a trick she's been showing a lot lately. Scroll ahead for more photos of her gorgeous outing and to find a few lace coats to add to your own closet.
