In late September, Cardi B took over the Billboard Hot 100 with her song "Bodak Yellow" and became the first female rapper to land a No. 1 song without any other featured artists since Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)" in 1998. It should also be noted that Cardi managed to knock Taylor Swift from the coveted top spot — which is no easy feat due to Taylor's legion of fans. To say Cardi B's supporters were shook by the good news would be an understatement.

Not only were Cardi fans excited about her success, but celebrities were also quick to congratulate her. "Sooo beautiful and lovely. Thank you @taylorswift for the flowers," Cardi B wrote alongside a photo of the floral arrangement Taylor sent her.

Fellow female emcee Missy Elliott also took time out to congratulate the 25-year-old rapper. "Congratulations @iamcardib for having a #1 record in the country," Missy tweeted. "That's not as easy as it seem this huge🙌🏾 May u have continued blessings🙏🏾" Cardi B later revealed "every single female rapper" congratulated her, including Nicki Minaj, saying it was "the best feeling because I listened to all of them."

Cardi continued her stellar year by mingling with her idols. While performing at the Made in America Festival in September, the "No Limit" rapper ran into Beyoncé and could barely contain her composure. "It's like, 'Oh my God!' That's how it feels like," she told the Associated Press about her epic encounter. "I'm surprised Beyoncé liked me!" Cardi also uploaded a photo of Beyoncé, who had her arms wrapped around her, writing, "I met Beyoncé B*tch !!!!!!!!!!!!"

In October, Cardi received the surprise of a lifetime when her fiancé, rapper Offset, proposed to her while she performed on stage at Power 99's Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia. Cardi immediately said yes and took to Instagram to show off her stunning new rock. "Jesus Christ I'm so emotional," she wrote. "Thank you for seeing the potential in me since you met me. For giving me advice [and] molding me and loving me," Cardi added. We can't wait to see all the pictures from their sure to be over-the-top wedding!

When She Won Countless Awards and Landed Two Grammy Nominations!

In June, Cardi scored two nominations at the 2017 BET Awards and took home five out of the nine awards she was nominated for at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, including MVP of the year. She also won a Soul Train Music Award in November.

Next year, Cardi will vie for two awards at the 60th annual Grammys ceremony: one for best rap performance and another for best rap song. Judging from her amazing 2017, we wouldn't be surprised if Cardi went on to win her first gramophone in 2018.
