Netflix is adding a different kind of dating show to its lineup. Dropping July 16, Indian Matchmaking offers an intimate look into arranged marriages and matchmaking in Indian American culture in the modern era, by way of professional matchmaker Sima Taparia. The recently released trailer is both hilariously cute and at times cringe-worthy, as Sima's very eligible millennial clients across the US and India explore dating in search of their perfect matches.

In the eight-episode series, the elite matchmaker carefully curates her pairings by learning exactly what her clients (and their parents) are looking for in a match, and then analyzing compatibility based on astrological readings, career ambitions, family dynamics, and more. And according to the trailer, it looks like there's a fair share of fun and often awkward dates that follow.

Sima describes her work best in the trailer, explaining, "In India, the marriages, they are between two families, so the parents guide their children, and that is the work of the matchmaker." Watch the trailer for Indian Matchmaking above, and see how the matchmaker works her magic on these personable singles when the show premieres next week.
