Donald Trump Tweets About International Women's Day

Donald Trump Tweeted About International Women's Day, and It Failed Miserably

On March 8, we celebrate International Women's Day and A Day Without a Woman. Just as the president should do on this important day, Donald Trump tweeted about his appreciation for women — but just like his other controversial Twitter behavior, it didn't go over well.

"I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy," President Trump tweeted. He added, "On International Women's Day, join me in honoring the critical role of women here in America & around the world."

Although Trump is boasting of his "tremendous respect" for women, his appalling misogynistic past does not support the tweets, and the internet is letting him know it. How could we forget that notorious conversation with Billy Bush in 2005 or the horrifying way he's treated Rosie O'Donnell?

To say that Trump's tweets backfired would be an understatement. Twitter users have responded basically telling him "no thank you" and serving him with examples of all the times his "tremendous respect" was in fact "tremendous" disrespect.
