Cable-knit sweater enthusiast and overnight internet sensation Ken Bone is making the most of his newfound celebrity, enjoying the temporary online frenzy surrounding his poignant presidential debate question. One of Bone's first steps to connecting with his passionate fan base was conducting a Reddit AMA ("Ask Me Anything"), which many celebrities do. The AMA earned over 13,000 comments from curious Redditors, and we learned a whole lot upon entering the #BoneZone.
Unfortunately, Bone's AMA did not come without its share of controversy. Because the longtime Reddit enthusiast used his real username to conduct the Q&A session, there were several unsavory discoveries in his user history; including, but not limited to, calling the murder of Trayvon Martin "justified."
Past Reddit use aside, Bone's AMA was nothing short of an internet dream come true. The sudden celebrity's online demeanor was a wild mixture of hilarious and earnest, starting at his AMA introduction:
I'm just a normal guy, who spends his free time with his hot wife and cat in St. Louis. I didn't see any of this coming, it's been a crazy week. I want to make something good come out of this moment, so I'm donating a portion of the proceeds from my Represent t-shirt campaign to the St. Patrick Center raising money to fight homelessness in St. Louis.
I'm an open book doing this AMA at my desk at work and excited to answer America's question.
Please support the campaign and the fight on homelessness!"
He touched on plenty of issues — both serious and playful — over the rest of the session, and we've pulled several of our favorites below.
