This Newspaper Wrote About President Trump, but Used a Photo of Alec Baldwin Instead

Alec Baldwin is so good at playing Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live that one newspaper couldn't even tell the two apart. A recent article in El Nacional, the oldest newspaper in the Dominican Republic, used a photo of Baldwin doing an impression of Trump instead of a photo of the president himself. People online were quick to call out the mistake and some even wondered if it was all a not-so-subtle burn at Trump, especially since Trump has tweeted about his dissatisfaction with Baldwin's portrayal of him.

El Nacional eventually did clear up the photo mistake, writing,

El Nacional published on Friday as Donald Trump a picture of actor Alec Baldwin, who imitates on a television program the president of the United States. The picture was sent that day by Associated Press (AP) with the name of the actor and reported on the program, but was placed as if it were Trump's, a situation that went unnoticed for all who reviewed page 19. National apologizes to the readers and all those who felt affected by the publication.

Something tells us this will only add ammunition to Trump's relentless persistence of branding articles written about him as "fake news."
