Planned Parenthood Responds to Donald Trump's Tweet

Planned Parenthood Fired Back at Trump's Tweet — and It's a Beautiful Sight

As Republicans struggled to pass their unpopular healthcare proposal through Congress, Planned Parenthood stood its ground and reminded Donald Trump just how vital its services are. On March 24 — the day the House was scheduled to vote on the American Health Care Act but pulled it due to lack of support — Trump referenced the reproductive health organization in a tweet that explained "the irony" of what would happen if certain GOP members did not vote in favor of the healthcare plan.

Trump was apparently upset that the Freedom Caucus, a group of conservative members of the House of Representatives, opposed the Trump-backed healthcare plan because it didn't think it went far enough in repealing Obamacare.

Planned Parenthood couldn't sit back while Trump called it out on social media, so the organization responded to him in a direct and poignant tweet that called his efforts "cruel." As it pointed out, it does so much more than provide abortions, which is the GOP's biggest point of contention with the organization.

But it didn't stop there, as PP went on to tweet Trump multiple stories of women who have benefited from the services offered by the organization, such as Christy, whose cervical cancer was first detected by a doctor at one of its clinics.

There are countless other stories from women like Christy who have benefited tremendously from Planned Parenthood's services. You can read about them here and get to know them in the video below.
