Here's How Delta Is Punishing the Passenger Whose Pro-Trump Rant Went Viral

A passenger on a Delta flight who was recorded ranting about Donald Trump's victory and harassing other passengers last week has been banned from the airline. The video went viral partly because the unidentified man in the video appeared to remain on the plane despite disrupting the flight. On Monday, Steve Kopack, a reporter for CNBC News, obtained an internal memo from Delta's CEO banning the passenger from the airline for life.

Ed Bastian, Delta's CEO, wrote, "He will never again be allowed on a Delta plane." Bastian also promised to refund the passengers who were aboard the flight.

In video, shown below, the man can be heard shouting, "We got some Hillary b*tches on here?"

In the aftermath of Trump's victory, acts of politically-motivated aggression and hate crimes have been on the rise: the Southern Poverty Law Center reported 437 hate crimes in the week following the election. Unfortunately, this is not the first incident of a passenger launching a politically motivated attack during a flight since Trump won.
