The Obsession Is Real: Bing Now Supports Emoji Search

Ever wondered what the pink swirly emoji is? Plug it into the Bing search engine, and you'll discover that it's narutomaki, a type of Japanese fish cake. That's right, you can now search the web with emoji. Starting today, Bing supports emoji so you can now quickly search the real meaning of those icons or even use them as a search keyword shortcut. You could, for example, use the doughnut emoji to look for the "best doughnut in Seattle."

Surprisingly, Google does not support emoji in search, so Bing mobile has the leg up in the emoticon department. This new Bing feature confirms that the obsession with emoji is a very real phenomenon that's not going away any time soon.
